Discover Mijas Costa

mijas.jpgTo continue with the beautiful Costa del Sol, a few kilometres away from Fuengirola, you will find Mijas Costa. Also located just on the sea front, Mijas Costa has a temperate climate and no excessive temperatures which is enjoyable to have relaxing holidays. One of the interesting facts of this city is that a lot of nationalities are represented within the inhabitants, who, for a major part of them, have a second home in Mijas Costa. But don't worry if you can't afford a second home yet, you can still rent a Mijas Costa apartment or book a Mijas Costa Hotel.

Even if the place knew a tourist boom, Mijas Costa didn't turn into an ugly resort and still offers beautiful views and a very nice old town. One of the specificity of the city you have to try is the "burros-taxi" : a taxi but on a donkey's back! You will also be able to visit the famous and particular bullring of Mijas Costa built in 1900.

Costa del Sol holidays : Fuengirola

Looking for nice beaches to lie on this summer? Well, on Costa del Sol you have a wide range of resorts to choose from. Among the most popular, we can find Fuengirola a cosmopolitan town located at only 25km from Malaga. This small fishing village became in a few years a nice resort with all the amenities you need to spend active holidays. It is now easy to find a Fuengirola hotel or a Fuengirola apartment to enjoy the numerous activities of the region.

fuengirola.jpgYou won't get bored in Fuengirola! Apart from the nice beaches, you can also go shopping in chic boutiques and discover the streets of the Andalucian town. If you are searching for more sporty activities, you can choose between going to the gym, horse riding or golf. Of course, as every good resort in Costa del Sol, Fuengirola offers a variety of water sports: from jet skis to speed boats.

Finally, if you prefer visits and want to see the most famous places around Fuengirola, you can take a walk and see the Plaza de Toros or the harbor. The zoo "Bioparc Fuengirola" is also well known and gives you the opportunity to see endangered species, or tropical forest animals in their recreated natural habitat.

fuengirola-e1254.jpgDon't miss the Sohail Castle, one of the most beautiful sites in Fuengirola. Several events are organized there throughout the year. During summer, you will be able to enjoy Spanish dance and music at night. In August, you can even attend a tapas fair. And finally, from the 17th to the 20th of August, a medieval market is set up inside the castle to recreate the atmosphere of old times with traditional clothes, music and food.

As I said, no chance to get bored in Fuengirola this summer!

Consequences of its location on the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula? Atlantic barcelona_weather.jpgwest winds often arrive in Barcelona with low humidity, producing no rain.

However, the proximity of the Atlantic Ocean, its latitude, and the mountains, are the reasons why the summers are not as dry as in most other Mediterranean locations.

To sum up, feel free to tick the "good weather" box on your perfect holiday list!!
