Cap de Creus National Park at Costa Brava - The 10th Anniversary
Cap de Creus, the most spectacular National Park at the Costa Brava in Spain is located on a peninsula and not only attempts to protect the terrestrial area, but also the maritime life. It has now been under protection for ten years by Spanish law and as you can see on this picture, it most certainly pays off. Tourists are free to visit the park and hike on one of the many trails throughout the park. Guided tours for all ages are also available. Depending on which part of the park you are interested guided tours will lead you through the medieval trails or along the coastline. Visiting the Monestary of Sant Pere de Rodes as well as the Nans Cove lighthouse is just as worthwhile as visiting the charming coastal towns Roses and Cadaques. Getting there has never been easier, as you can take a direct Bus from Barcelona in direction Gerona or the train to Llançà. If you decide to come by car from Figueras, just follow Nacional 260 to Bou and Llançà. The Catalonian Ministry of Environment provides more information on their English Cap de Creus website.
If you are planning to spend a couple of nights in this beautiful area, Barcelona Point has great offers for Hotels in Roses or on the other side of Cap Creus, Hotels in Cadaques.
