El Bulli exhibitor at Dokumenta 12, the world biggest exhibition of Contemporary Art.

Ferran Adrià, chef of the world famous restaurant El Bulli, located on la Cala Montjoi on la Costa Brava, in Roses, is the first cook to ever take part in the Dokumenta, the world most important event in Contemporary Art which takes place in Kassel, Germany.

This year, Documenta celebrates its 12th edition from 16 th to 23rd June with the particularity of having the restaurant El Bulli as one of its exhibitors. Thus Cala Montjoi, one of the symbolic sites on la Costa Brava and in Roses will offer its colors, shapes, tastes and patterns to the visitors in the meals cooked by Ferran Adrià. His cuisine will be considered as works of art, building the three axes of the exhibition.

BEACH FORBIDDEN TO SMOKERS!


After beaches for nudists, here come beachs for anti-smoking. So far it's just a local experimentation in a small town on the Cost Brava : L'Escala (Province of Girona). The mayor of the town, Josep María Guinart, has also drafted a bill aiming at creating non-smoking areas on every Spanish beach. The smoker hunt is just starting on the Spanish sand....

GALA - SALVADOR DALI FOUNDATION

The Gala-Salvador Dalí foundation promotes and protects the artistic, cultural and intellectual heritage of the painter Dali.
Thus, the foundation manages three museums: the museum-theater Dali, designed by the artist himself. There, is exhibited a whole range of works of art which retraces its artistical progression as well as the new permanent exhibition " dali-joies". The other building managed by the foundation is the Casa - Museu Salvador Dali in Portlligat where you can visit the studio and the library of the painter. The third building is the castle Gala Dali de Pubol where are the paintings and the drawings that Dali offered to his wife. Moreover, you can discover the sculptures of elephants which decorate the garden, Gala's haute - Couture clothes and other furniture.

NIGHT VISITS IN BESALU

ROMAN AMPHITHEATER OF TARRAGONA

The Roman amphitheatre of Tarragona is located at the East of the Catalan town. You reach it by Passeig de las Palmeras : a large balcony open to the Mediterranean sea.
The amphitheatre was built in the early 2nd century. It offers a splendid view of the sea.
In the arena, you can discover the remains of a Roman church from the 7th Century made in homage to the first Christian martyrs.
