Figueres ? home to works of Dalí

Figueres, the little town that is located only 37 km away from Girona is always linked to Salvador Dalí.

During your holidays at the Costa Brava you should not forget to visit the Museo Dalí in Figueres. For most people the famous and impressive museum is the only reason to come to Figueres.
But besides the museum there is more you can discover in Figueres during your stay in a Costa Brava Hotel. For example the ?rambla? in the centre of the town where you can enjoy a coffee in one of the numerous cafés or have a walk through the galleries and gift shops where the offer of little presents and souvenirs is mostly related to Salvador Dalí.
The ??Castell de Sant Ferran? which dates back to the 18th century is also worth visiting it during you stay in Figueres. It was originally built as a defence against the French. More recently it was used as a prison for Colonel Tejero. For about 10 ? you can easily get from Barcelona to Figueres by train. Trains are leaving every hour.
Or you can directly book a nice Figueres Hotel where you will enjoy your stay at the Costa Brava!

Sitges ? former fishing village turned to summer hot spot

Sitges is located 40 km south of Barcelona on the Costa Dorada and the perfect place to spend holidays in a Costa Dorada accommodation.
The former fishing village conserved its certain charm with its narrow streets and pleasing houses although it was established as a holiday town in the 1960s. Especially in the summer it is very crowded. Due to the great nightlife Sitges is sometimes also called ?Barcelona-on-sea?. The wonderful beaches attract most people who come to Sitges in the summer and spend their holidays in one of the Sitges Apartments or Sitges Hotels. Along the seaside there is a long promenade ? Passeig Maritím ? that invites you to have a rest in one of the many beach bars and restaurants or to enjoy one of the water sport facilities.
But besides the beach and the sea Sitges has a lot to offer. The Baroque parish church ?La Punta? is located on top of a little plateau and offers a wonderful view over the sea. There are also a couple of museums in Sitges that invite you on a rainy day. Sitges is also known for the International Film Festival, which takes place every year between October and November, and for the Carnival, which is celebrated between February and March.
Sitges is the perfect place at the Costa Dorada to spend your holidays. With its location only 40 km south of Barcelona it offers many alternatives.
So don?t hesitate and book your Sitges accommodation for next summer and spend an unforgettable stay at Costa Dorada!
