Horchata in Valencia

Valencia is also known for its horcheta-a drink made from chufas served either with liquid or granizadas. It is accompanied by Fartons(thin cakes). Legend has it that name "horchata" was coined by Jaume I, shortly after he conquered Valencia. He was admiring the Huerta one hot afternoon and an Arab girl offered him a drink so refreshing that he exclaimed "Aixoes or, xata"(this is gold girl).
You can get horchata all over the city, but the best traditionally comes from Alboraya, formerly a village in the Valencian suburbs, now absorbed in the city. the oldest horchateria in town is the Santa Catalina on the southwest corner of Plaza de la Reina.

guetting around the costa Brava

Driving is the easiest way to get around la costa Brava, though you can expect the smaller coastal roads to be very busy in summer and parking to be tricky in the major towns. Buses in the region are almost all operated by SARFA, with an office in evry town which offers an efficient service along the lenghth of the coast; consider using Girona or Figueres as a base for lateral trips to the coast; both are big bus termini and within an hour of the beach. To visit the smaller and subsequently lovelier, coves, though a car or bike would make life easier, or you could be prepared to walk the fabulous cami de ronda necklace of footpaths running along all the coastline. The train from Barcelona to Portbou and the French border runs inland most of the time serving blanes, Girona and Figueres but emerging on the coast itself only at Llança. there are also daily boat services which operate along the coast between Easter and September.

The costa brava is definitly one of the most trendy and famous destination in Spain during the Summer, thanks to its coasts and beaches. Alicante in the Costa Blanca

This thoroughly Spanish city has a decidedly Mediterranean air: its wide esplanades, such as the Rambla Mendez Nunez, and its seafront paseos, full of terrace cafés, are prefect for people watching. Founded by the romans, who named it "Lucentum" (city of light) and dominated by the arabs in the second half of the eighth century, the city was finally reconquered by Alfonso X in 1246 for the Castilian crown. In 1308 Jaime III incorporated Alicante in the Kingdom of Valencia.

Today Alicante is Valencia's second largest city, and receives millions of visitors through its airport each year. With its long sandy beaches, mild and pleasant climate, recently renovated old town and lively nocturnal offerings, this is definitely a city to spend at least one night in. The main fiesta, las Hogueras, is at the end of June, and ignites a series of cracking celebrations second only to the fallas in Valencia.

Alicante is one of the most popular city in la Costa Blanca, but you have a wide choice of accommodation in la Costa Blanca, such as hotels in Alicante, many apartments in la Costa Blanca: from group apartments in la costa blanca, to holiday apartments.
So if you are looking for sun, nice beaches and sightseeing, Alicante in la Costa Blanca is a perfect choice!

cadaquez in the Costa Brava

Cadaques is by far the most pleasant place to stay on the nothern Costa Brava, reached only by the winding road over the hills from either Roses or Port de la Selva and consequently retaining an air isolation. With white-washed and bougainvillea-festooned houses lining narrow, hilly streets, a tree-lined promenade and craggy headlands on either side of harbour that is still a working fishing port,it's genuinely picturesque. Already by the 1920's and 1930s the place had begun to attract the likes of Picasso, Man Ray, Lorca, bunuel, Thomas Mann and Einstein, but Cadaquez really "arrived" as an artistic literary colony after World war II when surrealist painter Salvador Dali and his wife Gala settled at nearby Port Lligat, attracting for some years a floating bohemian community. Today a seafront statue of Dali haughtily gazing on the artists, well-heeled barcelonans and art seeking foreigners who have rolled up in his wake provides the town's physical and spiritual focal point. If you are looking for a hotel in la Costa Brava, the online booking agency www.barcelonapoint.com offers hotels in Cadaques, and many hotels in la Costa Brava. Feel free to choose the accommodation of your choice with Barcelonapoint.com

Xativa and around

The ancient town of Xativa, 50 km south of Valencia in la Costa Blanca was probably founded by the Phoenicians and certainly inhabited by the Romans. Today it's a scenic, tranquil place and makes a good day-trip. Medieval Xativa was the birthplace of Alfonso De Borja, who become Pope Calixtus III, and his nephew Rodrigo, father of the infamous Lucrezia and Cesare Borgia. Xativa has a fine collection of mansions scattered around town, but most are private and cannot be entered. Many of the churches have been recently renovated, and the old place is a pleasant place to wander. On the way to the castle, you'll pass the 13th century Iglesia de San Feliu; a hermitage built in transitional Romanesque-Gothic style. Back in the center of town, the Museo del Almudin consists of two separate sections: an archeological collection and the other is an art museum. Fiestas are held during Holy week and in the second half of August when the Feria de Agosto is celebrated with bullfights and livestock fairs.
The Costa Blanca is a very popular region of Spain, a lot of tourists come there to enjoy the beaches during the summer, but also for the sightseeing.
Looking for an accommodation in la Costa Blanca, many online booking agencies offers hotels in la Costa Blanca, apartements in Barcelona. The payment is protected and secure.
